Festival of Colors

For the last three years I've always heard about the Festival of Colors. I've always wanted to go but could never quite make it because of work or no one to go with. Well this year I finally made it! Dj, Brooke, Joey and I all went down and had one heck of a time. I had so much fun.

So for those of you who don't know what it is..... Little lesson.
Holli, also called the Festival of Colors, is a spring festival celebrated by Hindus and others.
Here in Utah they celebrate it at the Krishna Temple down in Spanish Fork/Salem. The temple is actually pretty cool. They have a huge field of Lama's and They have bon fires going for the whole celebration. Anyway they all get together in front of the temple and throw colored chalk on everyone as like good blessings I guess. Anyway, if you walk in there with no chalk on you your a dead man. This is what we looked like just from walking through the crowd to buy some chalk ourselves. We had been there a total of two minutes.

This is what you go and stand in the middle of. Just this crazy dust of color.

It was quite the experience. We got each other pretty bad. this is only the beginning.

It just got worse and worse as the day went on.....

Joey's and DJ's faces were priceless. The colors had hit them like perfectly.

The End.....

oh and p.s. our clothes came out of the wash this morning looking brown... ruined! and then when I washed my hair it came out PINK AND PEE GREEN. I'm praying it fades soon or I'll be wearing a hat all week.

I love it! I had no idea that there was such an activity in Utah. And I've never seen that building before. Very cool though! I love all the color and your faces are awesome...good job on the splattering! That's funny about your clothes and your hair...I didn't notice via the webcam today...so it must not be that bad.

PS - I should let Autumn call you on the phone...she can talk for hours if you let her! And it never gets boring...she is always animated and excited to be talking to people.

I wish I could have gone. It's like Woodstock for Mormons.

I have always wanted to do that I am jealous. At least now I know if I ever get the chance to wear crappy clothes.

I looks like fun.

Wow Chels, Pink and Pee Green hair? It sounds perfect for April Fools this week! Sounds like fun! I can't believe the crowd of people there. I knew about it, but didn't realize how big of a deal it was. Anyway, love ya lots! I need to call you.
