It's begining to look a lot like Christmas.....

So last weekend Dj and I (well mostly me) got into some holiday spirit. We put lights up on our house (and by that I mean Dj). We got a Christmas tree. We even started our first "Tradition".

So, Dj and I wanted to get a real christmas tree this year since I haven't had one since I was a tiny girl.... So we decided to make a fun holiday tradition and get a tree permit and go cut one down our selves. We were to late on getting a permit in the uinta so we had to go to Fishlake.... Ya the desert. haha.... Anyway we drove clear down to Filmore with our friends Matt and Gabby Tripp. It took forever to even find the canyon... Then we tromped through SAGEBRUSH and DIRT to a tiny batch of pine trees. There were at least two good ones so we took them. No need walking through more sagebrush.

I was a clutz all day. I managed to face plant it in some cow crap.... Then Dj's truck got stuck in some mud and as we were pushing him out the wheel flew dirt all up my leg.... Then we went to a restraunt, Crap in my hair and mud on my pants. I'm surprised everyone was evening willing to be seen with me.

For the most part though it was so much fun and the Tripps and us will be doing it every year for sure! Next year though we are going to be more prepared and get one in the uinta mountains where there is snow and not SAGEBRUSH DESERT! How unfestive.

So anyway below are some pictures...... didn't feel like sorting them! Sorry.

Well our tree was kind of "Mogpoggy" but it turned out cute for our first one! It'll be better next year.

I love your new tradition and I think the tree is very cute for a brand new little family. Way to go!

Don't be surprised they let you in with poop in your hair and mud on your pants, you were in Fillmore, that's normal for them. Sound like a fun tradition. Chris and I hike for ours too. Outside Garden at Depot is outdoorsy enough for us :)

I can't believe I missed that you posted...sorry! Very cute tree! I love your story with cow crap and mud! What a fun tradition to start...B and I have been doing that every year too. You'll love creating your own traditions...it's funny how you hold on to the ones you did growing up and then add to them with your own! Glad you are enjoying the season! We miss you guys!
